Tilapia is a warm water fish. They will become very inactive when the water is cold and they start to die when the water temperature reaches low 50's. Warm weathers really turn the bite on. Tilapia fishing during hot days could be very rewarding.

QUESTION:
If I place a 20 gallon filter in my 10 gallon tank, is it safer to stock more fish?
At the pet stores, they have their tanks hooked up to very powerful filters and told me that is why they can put many fish in a small exhibit. I was wondering if that could work for a home tank. If i get a more powerful filter than my current 10 gallon filter, is it safe to stock more fish? also what type of filter would you recommend? Thanks.-
ANSWER:
A powerful filter won't let you add more fish. They still need plenty of space to live. Pet stores can have so many fish because they get sold quickly and don't need to survive there for very long. Tons of fish die in pet store but are removed before people see. They use powerful filters because it makes their tanks look cleaner. People at pet store often don't know how to care for fish well. They know how to sell them which is all they need to do to make money. They rarely give good information.
